Bozen’s Cottage is a small four-room colonial georgian style cottage, is located in the historic village, Oatlands, Tasmania. The historic sandstone materiality is retained and complemented with timber additions which suit the exterior skin.
The north-eastern elevation starts to reveal the insertions for contemporary living. The timber paneling with timber strips over the joinery is a unique feature that adds to the character of the cottage and will replicate the historic qualities as the timber cladding and internal door will aged in appearance over time and look rustic which helps to tell the story of the cottage.
This historic building won three awards in 2020 such as The Lachlan Macquarie Award for Heritage Architecture, The Roy Sharrington Smith Award for Heritage and People’s Choice Award TAS.
