The Brooke St Pier was designed by Circa Morris-Nunn in 2015 and this structure is technology significant in in being a dual structure that is both a building and a boat. This pier is located on the waterfront in hobart where the structure is a floating 4,300 tonne concrete pontoon which consists of three levels. This building acts like a boat in the way that it is floating and its completely self-sufficient meaning that it carries all the required services and systems on the building to provide a habitable environment. The pier also rises and falls with the tide, so it is anchored to the seabed with triangulated stretching cables fixed to the pontoon. In 2015, this building won the Commercial Architecture Award for the Australian Institute of Architects (TAS).
