Boags Brew House, designed by Birrelli is located at the heritage industrial precinct of the J. Boag & Son Brewery in Launceston. In 2010 this building was recognised with many awards including the Commercial Architecture Award, Sustainability Commendation and in 2009 Commendation Sustainability Award.
This building is well recognised for its adaptive use of sustainability through the precision of design elements. To reduce the environmental impact, the material selection, natural cooling and ventilation systems, natural light, sun/shade control was carefully designed and the re-use of existing heritage buildings connects with the significant heritage buildings that form the streetscape.
This new building provides the company a new brew house which was designed to reduce the carbon footprint for J. Boag & Son’s brewing operations while increasing brewing production.
