Mac 01 is located on the waterfront of Hobart, in the heart of Tasmania's culturally and historically significant buildings. The approach that Circa Morris-Nunn captured in this building design was to recreate a waterfront warehouse while retaining the essence of its provenance and history in the visible new form. The building consists of four levels including Morris-Nunns, Evolve Spirits Bar, with the main function being hotel rooms. Each of these hotel rooms are accompanied by outdoor balconies which adhere to the traditionally simple structures of warehouses while still retaining the uniqueness of new forms with these balconies. Timber battens located on the East/ West connect the North/ South timber boxes and screens which provides cohesive design approach. The Commercial Architecture Award for Australian Institute of Architects (TAS) was awarded to Circa Morris-Nunn for Mac 01 in 2018.
