Circa Morris-Nunn designed the Mawsons Hut Replica Museum to allow visitors of Hobart to learn and understand the history and achievements of the men of the 1910 Australasian Antarctic Expedition led by Douglas Mawson. This promotes awareness of Australia's involvement in the Antarctic and this museum was constructed off site in a prefabricated form in three sections and then bolted together on site at Hobarts waterfront. This hut survived the worlds most fierce wind at sea level and the original hut still stands with the original construction. Mawsons Huts hold unique cultural and historical history of Australia and are ‘regarded as the birthplace of Australia's Antarctic heritage’. “They are of nation and international significance, being only one of six remaining sites form the 'heroic era' of Antarctic exploration (1898 to 1896) and are also the only surviving site from an Australian Antarctic expedition from that period.”
