Rosevear architects designed the Omnipod - Avalon City Retreat which is a modular dwelling project, with each being 3.4m x 7.2m x 3.0m in dimension.
This building was constructed off site and therefore is able to be transported and located in different areas. The units ensure that quality, economy and adaptability is perfectly fabricated to make the units mobile easily. Each unit consists of glass sliding doors that connect to create a long glass façade giving access to the potential views. There is two types of modules: two bedroom/ensuite 6 tonne units and three central open-planned 4 tonne units. The separate module sizes make it easily transportable by an unescorted truck and engineered to be lifted by crane or helicopter.
At the moment the Omnipod is located at the top of an inner-city Hobart building to create the Avalon City Retreat and have won the Peter Willmott Award for Small Projects in 2013.
