Circa Morris-Nunn Chua Architects designed the ongoing development on Hobart's waterfront of the Princes Wharf 1. This space has been transformed to make a new public space that is well suitable for a variety of activities and events for Tasmanian and this space helps provide tourism opportunities.
The redevelopment has been award winning for the Urban Design Award in 2013 and Public Architecture Commendation in 2012. The main design outcome achieved in this renewal was increasing the shed's functionality and flexibility to support a wide range of public uses.
The space makes it more adaptable for large scale events with the facilities of hosting rock concerts to formal theatre and 1000 seat banquets. The princess wharf shed holds historic value with Hobart's waterfront shed being one of the oldest.
