The Richmond Tourist Amenities, built in 2003, are situated in the centre of the historic town and are known as the valuable tourism destination that holds cultural significance in Tasmania. ​

The buildings designed by 1+2 architecture, integrate contemporary architecture within the colonial historic context. By Providing this facility for tourist nearby the bus shelter, it reduces the congestion on main street from mainly the heavier and larger vehicles. This award-winning building received the 2004 the Commendation for Public Buildings and in 2005 Honourable Mention for Public Buildings. ​

The design features accentuated in the amenities reflect the historic architecture of Richmond through the generative form, composition, and materials with the adaption to contemporary methods of construction, finishes and details.
