Tasports cruise ship shelters are located in the middle of Tasmania's largest Cargo Port in Burnie, Tasmania. Cumulus designed the shelter from a shipping container to provide visitors that are arriving from cruise ships the shelter and support from the unpredictable Tasmanian weather and also functions as an effective way to direct visitors through the port to the next destination.
The shipping container allows for easy transportability and fits the surrounding environmental site conditions. In 2019 the Tasport cruise ship shelters won the Small project architecture- Commendation. A playful and creative design solution was adapted to the shelter through the use of adaptable signage that is visible to the exiting cruise ships.
